First law of Thermodynamics
The first law of thermodynamics is often called the law of conservation of energy. In simpler terms, you can think of it with this equation:
$[ \text{Change in Internal Energy} = \text{Energy in} - \text{Energy out} ]$
This means that if you add heat to a system or do some work on it, the system's internal energy changes, but the total energy in the system remains constant. This idea applies to everyday situations and is crucial for understanding how energy behaves in different scenarios.
